AHAP to celebrate 2500th anniversary
of Ashtaka (Attock) on Dec 16
ISLAMABAD: The Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan
(AHAP) will arrange an international seminar and Cultural Karwan
to celebrate the 2500th anniversary of historic town of Pakistan
Ashtaka, which is now known as Attock, on December 16.
It
was decided on Sunday in a meeting of AHAP Central Executive Committee,
which was presided over by AHAP Chairman Dr Ghazanfar Mehdi.
The
participants of the meeting were informed that caretaker Federal
Minister for Local Government and Environment Syed Wajid Hussain
Bokhari will lead the Karwan and caretaker Foreign Minister Inamul
Haq will chair the inaugural semina International Islamic University
Auditorium. Professor Dr AH Dani and Hazara University Vice-Chancellor
Dr Ehsanullah will brief the participants about the history and
culture of Ashtaka and Professor Dr Anwar H Siddiqi will host
a reception in honour of the participants. The Karwan will visit
the Taxila Museum.
